From Lab to Limelight: FEDPOLYNEK’s Water-Powered Engine Steals the Show at Federal Expo

Federal Polytechnic Nekede (FEDPOLYNEK) is making waves in the world of research, innovation, and technology! The institution recently showcased its creative and technical abilities at the National Exhibition on Creativity and Innovation in Polytechnics, organized by the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja.

The event, held from February 10th to 12th, 2025, at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria in Kubwa, brought together polytechnics and innovation enterprise institutions from across the country. It was an opportunity for FEDPOLYNEK to display groundbreaking projects developed by its talented researchers.

A team of dedicated innovators, including Engr. (Dr.) Adikwanduaba Sylvestre, Engr. Pius Nwosu, Dr. Nleonu Emmanuel, Mr. Tega, and Mr. Nkwocha Okechukwu, showcased impressive projects such as air jets, water-powered generators, cooking gas innovations, auto engines, and artistic designs. These innovations caught the attention of the Minister of State for Education and other dignitaries, leaving them highly impressed.

Speaking about the achievement, Dr. (Mrs.) Peace Abana, the Acting Director of the Research and Development (R&D) Directorate at FEDPOLYNEK, expressed her excitement. She emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and creativity, aligning with the Federal Government’s vision for research and technological advancement.

She was particularly proud of how the FEDPOLYNEK team stood out at the event, proving that the Polytechnic is home to brilliant minds capable of transforming ideas into reality.

Dr. Abana also extended her gratitude to the Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Basilia Igbokwe, for her unwavering support and visionary leadership, which played a crucial role in making the Polytechnic’s participation in the exhibition a success.

With such a strong push for innovation, FEDPOLYNEK continues to set the pace for polytechnics in Nigeria, proving that research and creativity are alive and thriving within its walls!
