To provide a conducive environment for physical, mental, and social development through sports and recreational activities, enhancing fairness, unity, discipline, and excellence among students and staff. 

Core Functions

We: 

  • organize, promote, and oversee sports competitions and recreational activities for students and staff, 
  • identify and nurture talent to represent the institution in external competitions, 
  • collaborate with national and international sports organizations to expose athletes to competitive opportunities, 
  • encourage participation in sports and fitness programs for improved physical and mental health,  
  • organize seminars and workshops on nutrition, wellness, and sports science, 
  • host community-oriented sports events to foster goodwill and social integration,  
  • use sports as a medium to instil values such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, and resilience, and mentor students for leadership roles within and beyond sports.  

The Sports Directorate can significantly enhance the institution’s reputation, community spirit, and individual well-being with these objectives, goals and focus areas

Five-a-side soccer tournament of the staff football team is on-going at the mile 2 training field. 

Our institution is hosting Zonal Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA) games between the 5th to 10th of January 2025. 

Our athletes will be participating at the Zonal NIPOGA games between 14th to 17th of January, 2025 at Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku 

The main NIPOGA games comes up at the Polytechnic Offa between 13th to 23rd of March 2025
