The Registry is the department concerned with the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic. It derives its functions and responsibilities from that of the Registrar as defined in the Polytechnic Bye-Law. The Registry is headed by the Registrar, who is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Polytechnic.

The Registrar as the Head of the Polytechnic Administration, under the supervision of the Rector, provides services to enable the Polytechnic perform its tripartite function of teaching, research and community service by guiding and facilitating the work of the various committees constituted for the proper running of the Polytechnic. The Registrar facilitates the functions of the organs of governance and their committees in his capacity as Secretary to the statutory bodies i.e. The Governing Council, Congregation and Convocation.

Profile of the Registrar

Mr. Njoku Stanley Ugochukwu is the current Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri. He officially assumed office on January 11, 2025, following his appointment by the institution’s Governing Council after a transparent and merit-based selection process.

Before his appointment, Mr. Njoku served as Deputy Registrar at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), where he built a reputation as a seasoned and dedicated administrator. His experience in tertiary institution management positioned him as an ideal candidate to steer the Registry Department of the Polytechnic.

As Registrar, Mr. Njoku functions as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Polytechnic, overseeing the operations of the Registry Department. He also serves as Secretary to key statutory bodies of the institution, including the Governing Council, Congregation, and Convocation, playing a central role in policy implementation and institutional governance.

Mr. Njoku’s tenure is expected to reflect his strong commitment to professionalism, transparency, and administrative innovation, aligning with the Polytechnic’s vision for excellence in institutional management.
