The Office of the Deputy Rector (Academics) typically oversees academic affairs and ensures the smooth operation of academic programs.This office is responsible for implementing policies related to teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic staff matters.

The Deputy Rector (Academics) coordinates academic planning, quality assurance, and the overall academic calendar, working closely with heads of departments, faculty members, and students to maintain academic standards and promote innovation in teaching and learning.

Profile of the Deputy Rector (Academics)

Dr Obinna Chukwuma Iwueke hails from Umunkwo Obazu Mbieri in Mbaitolu LGA Imo State Nigeria. He Had a successful primary School and attended the famous Government Secondary School Owerri. He has the following qualifications:HND Bus Admin & Mgt (1996) Federal Polytechnic Nekede, PGD Mgt(2006) University of Calabar 2004,MBA(Mgt) 2004 Imo State University,PhD (Mgt) 2011 Abia State University ,MSc(Mgt) 2004 Imo State University and Bsc(Bus Admin) 2022 Enugu State.

He joined the service of Federal Polytechnic Nekede ,Owerri in April 2008 as a Lecturer 11 in the department of Business Administration & Management.He was promoted to Lecturer 1 in 2011, Senior Lecturer in 2015,Principal Lecturer in 2018,and promoted to Chief Lecturer in 2021. A professor of Business Administration and Management from World Innovators University India 2023.

Iwueke Obinna Chukwuma who is actively involved in both personal and institution based Researches has successfully mentored and supervised many students at various levels of academic pursuits. He has published 42 journals,participated in 48 conferences local and international,attended numerous workshops and has Co-authored 20 text books.

His evolving career that is laded with quality and hardwork in Federal Polytechnic Nekede made him to be appointed Deputy Director Centre for Gender Studies 2013-2014, Head,Department of Bus Admin & Mgt(2014-2017),Chairman Peace and Conflict Resolution (2016-2019),Director Office of the Polytechnic Development (2019-2024),Chairman Curriculum Development 2022-2024.
